Denmark Selections Sponsored rider Sophie Wells and Pinocchio are one of only 2 individuals selected to represent the British Young Rider Dressage team at the European Championships in Broholm, Denmark 20-24 July. Sponsored Rider Sophie Wells update We were recently at Sheepgate premier league and I did my second ever inter 1 on Noki and we got 67.75% and came 3rd in a massive class. Equitana 2010 in Melbourne Australia. What a great show, it was really good to touch base in person with the Australian market, lots of interest and also new ideas. We are hoping to have some new dealers on board shortly to cover parts of WA, QLD and NSW which will make such a great difference. Thanks so much to Bill, Lyn, Sue and Melinda from Saddle-up Melbourne for helping organise the booth and Paula from Saddleworld Canberra for working and helping me throughout! Open Day Festivities - Sept 22nd 2010 Well we couldn't have wished for it to go any better, after all of the hard work putting it together, the whole BCS team pulled together as always and Wendy and Carol out did themselves on the fantastic food and champagne, many thanks for Wild Orchid florists who made the finishing touches with the flower arrangements and the best of all the sun shone for us! Our guest of honour for the official opening was Kay Hastilow, Society of Master Saddlers, immediate past president, Master Saddler and Qualified Saddle Fitter who cut the ribbon for us, alongside special guest Les Bullock, District Councillor. For anyone that had previously visited the Wednesbury Road premises, appreciation would be given that after 15 years we had finally outgrown the old factory. Whilst it is a shame to loose the nostalgia of Walsall and the squeaky floorboards and damp cellars of the old traditional factory, we are a saddle company with a future and our move here represents a new chapter for us. Outdoor Gelderland - The Netherlands June 9-13th We had a great show, as always it was a good chance to meet with the public and get feedback on our saddles already out there and other ideas. Lorna's Golden Horse Shoe The Celeste Endurance/dressage has just won its first Golden Horse Shoe. Congratulations to Lorna Hogg from Inverurie, Scotland who recently won the ultimate test of endurance riding 160km over 2 days across Exmoor on her 13 year old gelding De Marco (TB x Welsh). Lorna had the Celeste fitted by Kay Hastilow, since then has seen a great improvement "it is certainly working for us – his back is so soft and supple and looks great after a ride!" Lorna has represented the winning Scottish Team on 3 occasions and also competes De Marco in affiliated dressage with this saddle representing Findon Riding Club at the Riding Club Championships. BSPS Rider of the Year Sponsorship We are sponsoring the BSPS Rider of the Year Competition, formerly sponsored by Harry Hall. Riders qualify by being awarded a best rider card at a show affiliated to the BSPS for the final championship show to be held in August at Arena UK in August. Winners of the 10 sections from lead rein to under 25’s will each receive a Black County jacket and then go forward to the Rider of the Year Championship with the champion being presented a Black Country Saddle.
