Winter Dressage Underway

Team Black Country Saddles rider Sara Squires has been busy in the dressage arena with the eventing season now coming to an end.

Sara’s first dressage competition back was at Burrows Court Farm in Gloucestershire.

Said Sara: “I was really pleased with how the horses went at Burrows Court Farm. Carla Bruni was on great form and gained her Medium qualification when coming home with a first and a second, which was just fantastic.

“Bonfire Heart is a new ride for me.  He is a seven-year-old, Oldenburg chestnut gelding by Belissimo M and this was his first outing in two years! He got two qualifying scores and came second in both the Novices.

“Royal Prospect aka Sienna did her first British Dressage show and won both prelims with good scores so a good day all in all!  Our next outing is with Bonfire on November 5 at Hartpury and I am hoping he will get his Novice qualification done and I can then focus on the Freestyle and Elementary qualifiers.”
